1. Crisp, fresh tailored pieces
This is an obvious one for men, but we women often forget how far a well ironed white shirt can go. Tailoring has been around forever in the world of fashion for good reason. Just as a wedding dress tailored to your body will make you shine on your special day, a well fitted pant suit or white top will make sure to get people noticing you. Not to mention, a wrinkly shirt will get you noticed too, for a totally different reason. If you can’t iron, make sure to invest in a solid steamer. I’ve been sporting my favorite matching baby blue pant suit all around town!
2. Hard shell bags
Little trunk bags have been all the rage and these babies are sure to make you stand out. They’re definitely not the most practical, but that’s exactly why they’ll call for attention. When your bag looks purely like an accessory, you know it’s going to make you look posh as hell. I’m obsessed with my Aspinal mini trunk and could probably do with another few colors.
3. All white outfits
With spring just around the corner, I’ve been swapping all my head-to-toe black styles for white ones. There’s nothing classier than a full white look, whether it’s flared trousers or summer dresses. Even white denim looks fancy. But make SURE to watch out for your choice of intimates. It’s actually a myth to wear white underwear as that will show right through! Instead, opt for seamless nude options, favorite pair here.
4. A solid trench
Before anything else, people see what you wear on the outside. And particularly in London, it’s unlikely you’ll ever be without outerwear. At best, you’ll swap wool for lighter options so make sure this piece is a quality investment because you’ll be wearing it way more than your fancy ball gowns that you spend a fortune on.
5. A bold lip
When I say bold, I don’t necessarily mean red or dark (not that I don’t love that too). You can be bold with a glossy nude or even a slight shimmer (which I’ve been loving!). You can create this with any basic gloss and eyeshadow of your choice! Of course, you can also grab pigment by the bottle at MAC but it’s not absolutely necessary. I’ve been using my Tom Ford Extreme eyeshadows over Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour miracle cream to get that extra extra that will sure to get people asking “WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?”
