Now that I’m in my late 20s, I’ve gotten on the obsessive skincare bandwagon, from toners to masks to serums, but sometimes it can just feel overwhelming. I mean, how many products does one really need?
What I’ve found easiest is to focus on your ideal skin goals, one at a time and seek out a roundup of products for each of these goals. Maybe even organize your bathroom cabinet my goals! For me, my recent focus has been on products specific to one purpose & one only: glow. I absolutely love the dewy radiance you get after a day at the beach or a nice long facial and I’m constantly trying to replicate it in my routine by layering serums & using brightening primers. I’ve been opting for these creamier bases over foundation to keep the makeup to a minimum and I’ve found it makes me feel so much lighter.
To start, I use the Erno Laszlo Timeless Serum after a good cleanse. Not even kidding it smells like oranges! The texture is super soft and luxurious without feeling oily. Next up, I layer on Vichy’s Aqua Thermal. This one’s super light in both smell and consistency so it doesn’t feel like an additional layer but rather just a filler for any missed spots. Then, a few drops of Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow drops (you can also mix this in with your moisturizer, which is what I do).
Now onto the primers. I love mixing my own with Laura Mercier’s foundation primer in radiance and Tom Ford’s Illuminator in Fire Lust. And for a little highlighter action, I rub on some MAC Strobe Cream in Pink Pearls around my cheekbones and eyebrow arches. Then go on to do your usual makeup look or better yet, leave the house just like that with a little mascara & you’d be surprised how refreshed you look!
