Tips to plan for your next vacation

With summer fast approaching, I’m sure everyone has vacation on their mind. Getting time off can be the best thing to happen, but can also be quite draining if you’re not someone who loves planning. I’m in the middle of planning a trip to Southeast Asia in April (woohoo!!) and thought I’d share a few little tips in case they could be helpful for any of you!

Credit card points

This is possibly the best thing to ever happen to Americans. After moving to London and discovering the pain of opening a simple checking account let alone a credit card with any sort of benefits (I’m still using my Chase Sapphire Reserve), I realized how lucky I was. BTW, you need to read the Points Guy if you’re considering opening this credit card, or figuring out how exactly to maximize these points, or for pure entertainment even. And one of those ways is actually on international flights! You’d be amazed to see how much you can do with credit card points, whether it’s transferring to airline points or redeeming for hotel nights, and why not save a little on these huge expenses so you have more to spend on your vacation! We managed to score our roundtrip tickets entirely on points!

Jetsetter.com

I’m not entirely sure why I’m obsessed with this site but everything about the clean aesthetic to the luxury photography to the little “what we love” and “what to know” tips get straight to me. One of my favorite parts of this site are the flash sales so if you’re set on a break and have taken the days off but can’t think of a place to go, take a look here to see if you can grab an amazing deal! In my experience, the site pre-filters to include only 4-5 star properties so you pretty much can’t go wrong!

Googlesheets

This one is definitely a type A problem, but I’ve really come to depend on it for organizational purposes. Whether you’re going to take a few days off alone or with a friend/partner/family, Googlesheets makes the step by step process seamless by allowing everyone to work off the same document, sharing in the planning and keeping up to date. It also comes in handy when you want to work on it from any computer as it remains online.
