Summer is here and what better way to spend it than poolside? Last weekend I did just that – though the lack of aqua options in London led me to Barcelona for some fun in the sun!
When I was younger, I always thought pool attire HAD to be denim shorts and crop tops. But if you really think about it, denim is actually an awful choice if you plan to get into the water because as soon as you put them back on you’re stuck with a water stain on your bum for the rest of the day! Instead, try a printed playsuit. The design distracts from any water marks, plus, what says summer more than colorful prints! Playsuits are super easy – they take up close to no room in your suitcase, there’s not styling involved, and they slip on and off easily! I’ve selected some of my favorite options for you to shop below.
As for swimsuit choice, I’ll admit my cut-out one piece wasn’t the wisest decision for a first base tan. If you saw me naked now, you’d get a kick out of it. I look a little bit like a cross between a zebra and an alien. I’m sure you already know this, but for real tanning efforts, always opt for strapless skimpy 2 pieces to get as much under the sun as possible. And, of course, don’t forget to SPF!!! The trick is to apply liberally before you put your swimsuit on so do make sure you don’t miss along the lines which are actually most susceptible to burns!
